A Liberal Party financier who attended a cash-for-access fundraiser for Prime Minister Trudeau in 2016 is under investigation for having ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
It has been reported that Shenglin Xian, the founder of Wealth One Bank, paid to attend a private fundraiser where wealthy Chinese nationals could lobby Prime Minister Trudeau.
To make matters worse, it is alleged that Xian used this access to advance the interests of the Chinese Communist Party. Shockingly, only months after the fundraiser, Xian's bank was approved.
Given the troubling nature of these allegations, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) has launched an investigation.
